Anonymous Whisper chat
Whisper private chat is a fully anonymous, time-limited, QR-started end-to-end session. It is designed for conversations that should not become a permanent Buzzio social-graph edge.
Not the same product as Whisper Questions (anonymous ask links the owner can read).
How it works
- Create a Whisper session and pick a lifetime (about 1 hour up to 7 days).
- Share the QR / join link — no lasting Buzzio ID exchange required as a contact edge.
- Participants talk with session keys on their devices.
- Optional Vanish / Secure View inside the room.
- On expiry, server session records and relay paths are cleaned; the live room ends by design.
Why it is different
Many private messengers still leave a durable “you chatted with X” edge even when content is encrypted. Whisper’s product goal is:
meet → talk anonymously → expire → leave no lasting sealed chat archive for that room
After expiry, Buzzio’s claim is zero durable conversation metadata for that session (scoped — see Zero metadata).
Limits
- Free: 1 active Whisper at a time (close or wait for expiry to create another). Buzzio Premium unlocks unlimited active Whispers.
- Sessions are temporary — “chat gone” after expiry is expected.
- Scan / join limits apply.
- Messages themselves are not daily-capped.
Tips
- Use Whisper when you need ephemeral anonymity without a lasting contact edge.
- Use sealed 1-to-1 when you want an ongoing private relationship.
- Never treat Whisper Questions as E2EE private chat.
