Notifications

Buzzio notifications wake you for messages and calls without turning every alert into a public preview. You control banners, mute, and how much text shows on the lock screen.

Get started

  1. Allow Buzzio to notify you in phone system settings.
  2. Open Profile → Notifications.
  3. Turn messages and calls on or off.
  4. Choose a preview mode: Name and message, Name only, or No name or message.

Mute and community levels

  • Mute a single chat from chat or contact info.
  • In a Community or channel, choose Every message, Only tag, or Muted.
  • Stories from people you follow often update as a silent ring, not a banner with the photo.

Android background

On Android, battery savers can block wakes:

  1. Open phone Battery settings for Buzzio.
  2. Allow background activity / Unrestricted, and ignore battery optimization when the app asks.
  3. Keep the app updated.

Tips and limits

  • Sealed 1-to-1 pushes are designed to wake the app. The message body is fetched after wake — it is not supposed to sit in the push itself.
  • Preview text still follows your in-app preview mode after the app fetches.
  • Call rings need both OS permission and the in-app calls toggle.

Troubleshooting

I get no notifications

  1. OS permission — is Buzzio allowed to notify?
  2. In-app Notifications — messages / calls toggles and preview mode.
  3. Per-chat or community Mute.
  4. Android battery restrictions (see above).
  5. Confirm you are signed into the correct account if you use multi-account.

Notifications show too much

Set preview to Name only or No name or message. Mute chats that should stay quiet.

I get a wake but the chat is empty

Wait a second for fetch, pull to refresh the chat list, and confirm network. If the sender is blocked, you will not get the message.

Call does not ring

Turn on calls in Notifications, allow full-screen / special alerts if Android asks, and confirm the other person is calling from 1-to-1 chat.

  • Encrypted calls — ring-and-answer calls.
  • Privacy and security — Smart Inbox can hold unknown senders until you accept.
  • Status — check status.buzzio.dev if many people are affected.
