Group Voice Rooms

A group voice room is live encrypted audio you join from a group chat. It does not ring every member like a 1-to-1 call. Use it when a few people in a group want to talk at the same time.

Up to 20 people can be in a room.

Get started

  1. Open a Group chat.
  2. Start a voice room from the group (the control appears in the group chat).
  3. Allow microphone when your phone asks.
  4. Other members tap the voice-room bubble or banner in the group to join.

You can mute yourself, leave the room, or end it if you started it and the group controls allow it.

Join and leave

  • Join from the group chat while a room is live.
  • Leave anytime. Leaving does not remove you from the group.
  • If nobody stays connected, the room ends on its own after a short idle window.

Tips and limits

  • Maximum 20 participants.
  • This is audio, not a 1-to-1 video call and not screen share.
  • You still need a working microphone permission and a stable network.
  • Blocks and group bans still apply — you cannot join a room in a group you cannot access.

Troubleshooting

I cannot start a voice room

  1. Confirm you are in a Group, not a Community channel or Broadcast.
  2. Allow microphone for Buzzio.
  3. Update the app. Older versions may not show the control.

Others cannot hear me / I cannot hear others

  • Unmute yourself in the room controls.
  • Check phone volume and Bluetooth headsets.
  • Switch Wi-Fi ↔ cellular.
  • Leave and rejoin the room.

The room disappeared

  • Everyone may have left, so the room ended.
  • You may have lost network. Reopen the group and look for a live room bubble.
  • If you were removed from the group, you cannot rejoin the room.
  • Encrypted calls — ring-and-answer voice and video between two people, including screen share.
  • Groups — the chat surface where voice rooms start.
