Account and Buzzio ID

Your Buzzio account is a 12-digit Buzzio ID plus a 12-word recovery phrase created on your device. You do not need a personal phone number or email to sign up.

Write the phrase down before you need it. Buzzio cannot reset it.

Get started

  1. Install Buzzio and choose create a new identity (or restore if you already have one).
  2. Save the 12-word phrase offline — paper or another place only you control.
  3. Note your Buzzio ID. Share it with people who should find you.
  4. Optionally set an @username, nickname, photo, and description in your profile.

To sign in on a new phone: install Buzzio → restore / sign in → enter Buzzio ID + all 12 words.

Username and profile

  • @username is optional. You can control who may find you by username in Privacy.
  • Nickname, photo, and description have their own privacy controls (who can see them).
  • Your Buzzio ID can also be hidden from others with a field-level privacy setting.

Phrase vs backup key

  • 12-word phrase — restores your identity and messaging keys.
  • Backup recovery key — unlocks an encrypted backup of chat history you chose to save.

You may need both when you move phones and want history back.

Tips and limits

  • There is no “forgot phrase.” Wrong words restore the wrong keys.
  • Uninstalling the app deletes local history on that phone.
  • Optional Bitcoin wallet (18+) can use the same 12-word phrase — anyone with it can control chats and funds.
  • Buzzio is 13+. Wallet features are 18+.

Troubleshooting

I cannot create an account

  • Check network, then retry.
  • Update to the latest Buzzio from your store.
  • If the app asks you to update before continuing, complete that update first.

Restore says the phrase is wrong

  1. Use the exact 12 words in the exact order, including spelling.
  2. Enter the same Buzzio ID that belongs to that phrase.
  3. Watch for extra spaces or autocorrect.
  4. Buzzio support cannot reconstruct a lost phrase.

I am in, but old chats are missing

Login restores identity, not a default cloud copy of sealed chats. Restore an encrypted backup with your backup recovery key if you made one.

Someone cannot find me

  • Share the dashed or raw 12-digit ID, or your @username if you set one.
  • Check Privacy: username, Buzzio ID, and “who can add me” settings can hide you.
  • Multi-account — keep more than one identity on the same phone.
  • Backup and recovery — optional history restore.
  • Privacy and security — app lock, hidden chats, and profile privacy.
